Your Comments : Shameem's FHRC shakeup

He was dreaming of the day he would undo the incidents that happened which led to his master being unceremoniously (fled in the naval vessel) dumped from his position before death in office (which was his last personal wish), and probably bring his master (Ratu Mara) back.

He was stupid enough to have done it when he was gone, because he had nothing to prove. Who was he going to give the national leadership to? There was no one in Ratu Mara's calibre that can Doctor national law and political direction.

Ratu Mara is an imperialist, something like the colonial ruler's policies of divide and rule. To ensure that he had monopoly control of the FIJIAN political direction and becoming the President, he instigated the 1987 COUP and declared Fiji to be a republic so that he can become its forever President, he initiated the Fijian Association Party with his son Finau.

Fifty Nine years of Independence - Reminiscences

After this our Sinhala kings together with their armies were able to chase all the aliens from Ceylon and establish a unitary country for over three centuries. By the convention of March 2, 1815 we became a colony under the British. As a result of the joint and collective efforts of all the leaders who were agitating for independence Ceylon was freed from the colonial rule in 1948.

The last struggle of the Sinhalese against the British in 1848 which the historians describe as the Matale rebellion was supported by some leading Burghers of the day. Chief among them was the then Chief Justice Sir Anthony Olipahant. He condemned the acts of military panel which shot Ven. Kudapola and Puran Appu. Kings counsel H. C. Selby, Dr. Elliot, A. M. Fergusion Richard Morgan and Laurance Oilphant were among this Burgher community.

Media Blames Heath Ledger, Refuses to Examine Dangers of the ...

(NewsTarget) Can you imagine the outcry if Heath Ledger's body was found next to a pile of Chinese herbs? The media outcry would be deafening, and nearly everyone would leap to the conclusion that the herbs must have killed Ledger. But when Ledger's body is found next to bottles of FDA-approved pharmaceuticals, there's hardly even a whisper about the deadly side effects of such pharmaceuticals (and the likelihood that Ledger was, indeed, killed by FDA-approved medicines).

The mainstream media is wearing blinders when it comes to accurately reporting stories involving pharmaceuticals. The silly presumption is that all pharmaceuticals are safe. They were approved by the FDA, weren't they? And yet FDA-approved pharmaceuticals kill twice as many Americans each year as the entire Vietnam War.

AC360°: Flirting with disaster

There were supposed to be pictures tonight to give you a view of the control room from the back row. The photos didn't happen because of late word from Chicago that a decomposed body, which could be that of Stacy Peterson, had been found at an industrial site in Chicago. However, If you had gotten those pictures you would have seen: - our satellites coordinator, Brooke Turnbull, with multiple phones plastered to his ears, making sure that the two late guests and two late phoners actually made air at the top of the show - our video coordinator, Ashley Corum, frantically cutting new video of investigators at the site that was being fed in from the field - our line producer, Jenny Blanco, doing rundown aerobics to make sure the hour did not become a 90 minutes showIn the end, Brooke got us the guests, Ashley got us the pics and Jenny got us out on time.

Loonie drops below 97 cents

The loonie tumbled to a four-month low below 97 cents (U.S.) Monday as traders looked past Tuesday's widely expected interest rate cut to how a severely a U.S. economic slowdown would affect Canada.

"The idea that the global economy is decoupling from the U.S. slowdown is lying in ashes as you watch what is going on in global equity markets," David Watt, senior currency analyst for RBC Dominion Securities, said in an interview.

The Canadian dollar fell 0.52 of a cent to 96.81 cents on Monday, its lowest level since at least the middle of September. The loonie, a star performer on the global currency stage in 2007, has taken a large hit since cresting at a record $1.10 in November.

The diminished appetite for the Canadian dollar is being driven by the same issue that is walloping equity markets: concern the U.S.
