Rose Hill, Bath take aim at title

They acted like they had been in a game against big competition before. I just didn't think that we got rattled at any time during the 32 minutes.''Chad Jackson, the Royals' other high-profile sophomore, had 17 points and nine rebounds. Rose Hill also got solid production from the supporting cast. Robbie Barber, Mike Davis and Tony Arthur combined for 18 points and helped in other areas."I thought Tony gave us a great performance on defense,'' Fraley said. "For him and Alex Malloy to hold (Jonathan) Ferguson to 13 points, they just did an unbelievable job on him. Robbie hit a couple of shots and Mike made some nice baskets when they were trying to double on Dakotah.''Rose Hill will be trying to atone for a 64-46 loss to Bath County on Dec. 22 in the Royals' David Garnes Invitational.Bath County didn't make the region's top 10 in a preseason coaches' poll but has won 11 of 14 games, including the last eight in a row.Fraley said the Wildcats' success is no surprise to him."I told people before the season that Bath County would be good,'' Fraley said.

School sales tax debate is personal for some lawmakers

DES MOINES — The brewing debate over a statewide sales tax to fund schools is a rematch of sorts from 10 years ago.Back then, Rep. Christopher Rants, R-Sioux City, was a rising star who guided a county-by-county version of the tax into law. Sen. Mike Connolly, D-Dubuque, was a seasoned incumbent who fought unsuccessfully for a different approach."I remember it vividly," Connolly said. "I said, ‘I don’t like this.’I held my nose and I voted for it."Now, the same two players — two of the scrappiest partisans at the Statehouse — are about to tussle over the same issue. Connolly, who is retiring at the end of the year, sees this as a chance to right a wrong, while Rants wants to preserve one of his proudest accomplishments. The current proposal would transform the school infrastructure local option sales tax, or SILO, which has been locally approved in all 99 counties.

Each occasion is profoundly moving. Most of the time the lost soldier, sailor or marine is young. In some cases there is a girlfriend; or a young widow, on one or two of those occasions with a baby the fallen soldier has never even held. You cannot escape the youth: the disbelief of childhood buddies that their friend could be gone so soon; the utter tragedy of parents having to bury a child just entering his or her prime. Still, there is a remarkable lack of bitterness among the families. Only loss and grief and an understanding unspoken that service and sacrifice is sometimes necessary."One generation. One generation and the circumstances of my life and family were profoundly transformed. That story is not unlike many of yours in this room or elsewhere in this Commonwealth. And though that story is still not told often enough still, it is told more often in this country than any other place on earth.

Use caution when buying Fiesta Bowl tickets online

When buying from a merchant, look for the BBB online seal. This means the company generally has a good reputation dealing with online transactions. When buying from an individual, don't be lured away from the site. If you complete the sale outside the domain (like eBay) the domain's protection will vanished. Never pay with a cashier's check or wire money to the seller. You will have no recourse to get your money back. Use a credit card or Paypal only. If the seller includes a picture of the tickets with their posting, scrutinize them closely for any inaccuracies or alterations. You should also cross-check the seats with a map of University of Phoenix stadium.

With online auctions, scammers can hijack old accounts. Make sure there is recent buying and selling activity in the account.

Building Your own Web site Part 6: Reaching Out

MOVIESThe same is true for movies using www.youtube.com – post videos to YouTube and then embed the video onto your Web pages. YouTube pays for the bandwidth (not you or your hosting company) and people can comment on them or share them with others.

Don't forget to have a title screen or credit screen at the end of the video with your Web site address on it as a call to action.
